Small Joys: 100 Days of Flowers
Small Joys: 100 Days of Flowers
A daily botanical practice rooted in beauty, healing, and the quiet joy of flowers.
This summer, I’m beginning a new body of botanical work.
Each day, I’ll create a small 5 x 7 in. botanical painting using color palettes designed to evoke joy, warmth and emotional restoration. These paintings are also part of a personal healing practice.
After breast cancer surgery, I developed neuropathy in my fingers, which changed the way I work and the amount of time I can comfortably spend painting. Instead of pushing against those limits, I wanted to create a practice that honors them. So for the next 100 days, I’ll spend about 1 hour a day creating small floral works built through ink and acrylic color.
